My Favourite Musical Memory of 2014

As 2014 becomes another entry in the history books, I would like to share with you my favourite musical memory of that year:  TimFest 2014 on 31st August. For those of you who do not know, TimFest is a yearly celebration of great local music, delicious food, and the birthday of the event’s organiser, White Light guitarist/vocalist Tim Webb.

When I arrived at Tim’s house on the north side of High Point, North Carolina, my guitar was loaded on the back of the rented golf cart, and I was taken to the stage where I kicked off the event. My set included two original songs, S.O.S. and (U) Spit Me Out, and covers of hits by April Wine, Paul McCartney, Tom Petty, Sam Smith, and Passion Pit. The audience enjoyed my performance, and TimFest also included other local acts like the PeaceTrain Band, Blues Extract, Special Sauce, and of course, the headlining band with the best three-part harmony in the business — White Light, whose set was augmented this year with electric guitar riffs from Hunter, one of High Point’s guitar extraordinaires. As always, there was a hell of a lot of great music of different genres like pop, rock, blues, Americana — you name it. I had a great time, and I look forward to next year’s TimFest event.

To all of my readers, fans, followers, likers, and fellow bloggers, I wish you and your family a very happy, blessed, and joyous New Year!
